Playback Questions
Common questions about video playback and formats
VueSpot Media Player supports a wide range of video formats including MP4, MKV, AVI, WMV, MOV, FLV, WebM, MPEG, TS, M2TS, and more. Our player is designed to play virtually any video format without requiring additional codecs.
High-resolution videos require significant processing power. For smooth 4K/8K playback, we recommend using a computer with at least 8GB RAM, a multi-core processor, and a dedicated graphics card. You can also enable hardware acceleration in settings, which uses your GPU to improve performance.
Click on File > Open URL in the main menu, or press Ctrl+U (Windows) / Cmd+U (Mac). Enter the video URL in the dialog box and click "Open". VueSpot supports most streaming protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, RTMP, and HLS.
Insert the disc into your computer's optical drive, then select File > Open Disc in the main menu. VueSpot will automatically detect and play the main title. For Blu-ray discs, make sure you have the latest version of VueSpot Media Player with Blu-ray support.
Yes, VueSpot Media Player supports HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision content on compatible displays. To enable HDR playback, go to Settings > Video > HDR Settings and ensure "Auto detect HDR content" is enabled.

Go to Settings > Subtitles > Appearance, where you can modify font, size, color, outline, background, position, and timing. You can save your customizations as a preset for future use.
To adjust subtitle timing, press H to delay subtitles or G to advance them. For finer control, right-click > Subtitles > Sync Settings, where you can enter specific time adjustments in milliseconds.
Yes, VueSpot can search for and download subtitles online. While playing a video, right-click > Subtitles > Download Subtitles. Our player will search popular subtitle databases and present you with available options in different languages.
